Spring Has Officially Arrived… I Know Because Someone Bought My Pool Book

There are a lot of ways to tell when spring has arrived in Ontario.

The snow melts (eventually).
The days stretch out a little longer.
The robins come back.

And this year, I discovered a new one.

Someone bought my pool maintenance book.

My first sale.

Not a friend. Not family (at least I don’t think so!).
A real person, somewhere, getting ready to open their pool.

And just like that—it hit me.

Spring isn’t coming… it’s here.

The “Pool Owner Calendar” Is a Real Thing

If you’ve owned a pool as long as I have, you know this already.

There’s a rhythm to it.

  • Winter: We don’t talk about the pool. Well… that’s not entirely true. My granddaughter asked me this year if they could skate on it because it was frozen solid. So yes—the pool does come up in winter… just not in the way pool owners might hope.
  • Early Spring: We start thinking about the pool.
  • Mid-Spring: We worry about the pool.
  • Opening Day: We wrestle the pool back to life.

And somewhere in that “thinking and worrying” phase… people start looking for help.

That’s where my book quietly showed up on someone’s screen—and landed in their cart.

Why This One Sale Meant So Much

It’s easy to think one sale is small.

But it’s not.

It means:

  • Someone searched for a solution
  • Someone trusted the description
  • Someone decided, “This might help me”

And that’s exactly why I wrote it.

After 25 years of maintaining our above-ground pool (and making plenty of mistakes along the way), I wanted to put everything I’ve learned into something useful, practical, and real-life doable.

No fluff. No overwhelm. Just:
👉 Here’s what works.

If You’re Opening Your Pool Soon…

You’re not alone—and you don’t have to guess your way through it.

If you’re at that stage where you’re thinking:

“Okay… now what do I do first?”

I’ve been there. Many times.

And that’s exactly what the book walks through—step by step, in plain language.

A Quiet Little Celebration

So today, I’m celebrating two things:

  • The arrival of spring
  • And the fact that something I created found its way to someone who needed it

And honestly?

That feels pretty darn good.

Final Thought

Spring has a way of nudging us back into motion.

Opening the pool.
Getting outside again.
Trying something new.

Or—even writing and publishing a book.

Every season brings its own kind of beginning.
